We decided we’d spend one more day in the heat to heal before continuing our travels. So, this evening we took a walk to enjoy the sunset and it did not disappoint.

This troublesome feline seemed to fall in love with my tripod legs. It kept shifting my camera mid-shot.

After the first morning of our arrival to South Padre Island, which had been grey and rainy, our stay has been nothing but clear skies. After many early evenings, I though it was time to attempt a night shoot. While the ambient light of the area was a challenge, the greatest obstacle to overcome was a curious stray cat who had nothing better to do than rub up against my tripod legs and shift the camera mid exposure. After a few blurry picture, it became clear that taking the picture was only part of the process. I would have to guard the tripod throughout the exposure time. Despite our furry collaborator, there were some fascinating scenes to be captured.
