Building something ready for the open road isn't a

Building something ready for the open road isn't always strait forward. Sometimes, we have to take a few side trails before we are sure we are on the right path. Fortunately, there are a lot of hacks to speed up the process. ⁠
⁠
So, I'm chopping up and gluing foam board to prototype our passthrough boot. There are a lot of ways people seal the transition point from camper to truck cab, but this is one of the most simple, so it just makes sense to test the easiest solution first to identify what works and what doesn't. ⁠

Hopefully, we'll have everything arranged in time for Overland Expo East to test out how well it works!⁠

We've been attending Overland Expo East since 2016

We've been attending Overland Expo East since 2016 when it was at the Biltmore. I can't imagine a stranger juxtaposition of extremes than this rough and tumble gathering at the largest estate in the United States. Back then, we didn't even have the Avion. We slept in the truck bed⁠ under a topper.⁠
⁠
A lot has changed since then: our camper, the venue, and our role at the event. This will be the first year that we attend with the vendors. We'll be literally camping out at the Bowen Customs booth.⁠
