Here is my obligatory picture of the Space Needle. I was grateful to finally have a day that included blue skies.

After almost a week on Bainbridge island, it was time to make a trip into Seattle. Getting there was part of the fun as we took the ferry, with breathtaking perspectives of the Seattle skyline and the space needle.

We caught a late lunch at a delightful Asian Fusion restaurant, Kracken Congee. I have to admit, I was suspicious that this was yet another word soup restaurant name that had little to do with the food it served. I hadn’t had congee in years but today was the day to break the rice porridge drought along with some pork buns, beef noodles, and chicken wings. Three cheers for the border bending, globe spanning wonders of the culinary arts.

The Sticky Icky Chicken Wings smelled a lot better than one would expect anything with that name to smell. They also tasted quite good.

A tree sized log, maybe just a tree, floating in the water. It was large enough that our ferry redirected at the last minute to use the second dock. They were impressively good at navigating such a large ship in such a limited space.
