Deep in the woods of South West Oregon is Clear Lake. Deep in the depths of Clear Lake is an ancient forest. Trees that had grown on a prehistoric valley floor were flooded 3,000 years ago when a lava flow blocked up a river and flooded the valley to create Clear Lake.
Today, many of those trees can still be seen when the water is calm and the sun is out. Unfortunately for us, the water was rough and the sky was full of clouds. Most of my pictures where of ripples and the precious few clear shots I could capture of preserved tree trunks were mostly out of focus. Yet, a few came through.
