Highway 89A is a relatively short scenic diversion from Highway 89, but there are plenty of nearby distractions to continue the trip.  Continue north of Highway 89 to explore Grand Canyon National Park.  Travel south to explore Tonto National Forest, Roosevelt Lake, and the Superstition Mountains.  Or take your pick of east or west from Flagstaff to travel Route 66.
