Mountain Farm Museum

The dawn mist lay heavily over the Mountain Farm Museum in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park

The Mountain Farm Museum is an oasis of calm in the chaos of the Great Smokey Mountains, America's most visited National Park. Located on the North Carolina side of the park, this living history museum doesn't experience the same traffic density as similar attractions like Cades Cove. The Museum shares a parking lot with the Oconaluftee Visitor's Center with plenty of easy parking.

Mark Twain Cabin

The Mark Twain Cabin on Jackass Hill, Tuttletown, California was home to Samuel Clemens while writing "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County"

I don't expect historic sites to be flanked by rural homes with horses and chicken coops. Yet, standing across the street from the accusatory glare of a neighboring donkey is the Mark Twain Cabin.

RV/MH Hall of Fame And Museum, Elkhart, Indiana

And, honestly that's all you need with such an extensive collection of unique campers, from grand progenitors of vehicular camping to custom rigs constructed for movie stars.

Costumes from Batman and Robin and Talladega Nights

We have been through Kansas before, but only in transit to other places. We stopped by Monument Rocks in 2016. But that is about it. This time, we visit another of Kansas’s 8 wonders: the Strataca Salt Mines. While, above ground, this region seems as unremarkable as most - wide flat farm land cut by railway tracks - the town of Hutchinson has hidden depths.

Monterey Bay Aquarium

Halls of sea otters, jellies, tropical fish, seahorses, octopus, and other aquatic wonders on display at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Monterey Bay Aquarium is a delight of frolicking sea otters, delicate jellies, colorful choral fish, and awkward coastal birds. The Aquarium first opened its doors to the public on October 20, 1984 in the former 1916 Hovden Cannery. It currently boasts 34 major galleries with close to 200 exhibits featuring 550 different species totaling 35,000 creatures in residence. It is a joy for all ages but the child in me was particularly a thrill.
